    A morning star consists of long shaft of wood or steel with a weighted, spiked head at the end. They are somewhat heavy, but also very well balanced and don’t ‘feel’ heavy. The military flail is a shorter shaft of wood linked to a weighted head by chain.

    Morning star is not a ‘class’ of weapon. Things with spikes are not necessarily morning stars. A morning star is actually a very specific thing.
