Powder is cheap, efficient and easy to obtain. For the volume and weight that you spend in a had coilgun you have a assault rifle with more kinetic energy, better ballistics and rate of fire.

As I said, rail/coilguns are only interesting when you want bullet speeds over the 2.000 mts/sec, because the firearms are limited by the speed in the expansion gases. This is why some nations are developing naval railguns with speeds over match 6.6UnnUnnecessary inin

Gauss guns and rail guns are competitive with standar firearms only when you have access to high amounts of electricity, which means weight. Also the friction is high. So, the most viable magnetic guns are naval guns placed in nuclar-powered ships. It will provide you ultra-high speed and range projectils without be worriead about weight and the source of power. Main problem to succesfull navy railguns and coilguns is still the endurance of the barrel.

I think the gun needs reloading or something after every shot so I think he makes the video skip to the part where he’s actually shooting making it seem like he’s firing 3 shots in a row. Which IMO would explain why the light gets a bit darker and the gun and box appear to have moved slightly every time it skips. But I could be wrong.
